Outcomes
Union Rescue Mission aims to help over 200 families transition to stable living within the first three years of operations at full capacity (2012). Already, 30 families including 56 children are calling HGFC home and over 45 families and 25 senior women have been served in its first year of operation.
The goal of the family program is to move heads of families into a home of their own where they will successfully manage a household, supported by a stable income. This transition process and community reintegration will be addressed through the support of volunteer community mentors who will stay connected with former residents, helping them build upon the successes accomplished through this program.
Dedicated to providing the highest quality support to families desiring to move out of homelessness, Union Rescue Mission strives to operate the program at Hope Gardens Family Center with excellence. To ensure a high level of excellence, Hope Gardens is committed to honest evaluation of its delivery of services. The following benchmark outcomes have been created for Hope Gardens:
• Improve access to and availability of affordable rental housing
• Improve housing opportunities for homeless families
• 80% of family program participants will enroll and complete required educational goals
• Provide Mommy and Me nursery and preschool program services 8-10 hours, 5 days a week
• 25% of participants will enroll and complete GED, vocational, career center classes and/or Higher Education courses
• 50% of school aged youth will demonstrate measurable improvement in social and academic performance
• Residents will secure and maintain employment for 6 months after date of hire
• 40% of family program participants will secure living wage employment and/or increase their hourly wages to $10.00 or more
• 60% of family program participants will secure permanent housing within 24 months of enrollment
